Education & Dental Philosophy
Melanie’s passion for dental care began at a young age. Growing up in country NSW, she experienced firsthand the barriers many communities face in accessing healthcare. Determined to make a difference, Melanie started her journey in the dental field at just 14 years old, working as a Sterilisation Nurse after school. She went on to complete her Certificate III and Certificate IV in Dental Assisting before deciding to pursue her dream of providing more direct patient care.
Studying Oral Health Therapy was a natural progression, and Melanie graduated with full adult scope, allowing her to treat patients of all ages. She thrives on tackling complex cases – the ones often labelled as “too difficult” or “too challenging.” Collaborating closely with dentists and specialists, Melanie takes pride in being part of transformative care, particularly in periodontal treatment. She is passionate about educating patients on gum health and empowering them to make informed decisions about their oral care.
Melanie also finds immense joy in working with children. She believes in instilling healthy habits early on, teaching kids and parents the importance of preventative care to set them up for lifelong oral health. Her approachable and compassionate nature makes her a trusted professional among patients of all ages.
