Brisbane Smiles 2024 Year In Review: A Year of Smiles, Growth & Gratitude
As 2024 comes to a close, we find ourselves filled with immense gratitude for the wonderful patients, families and community members who have made this year so memorable.

Kids Days
One of the standout events of the year was our Kids Days — an initiative designed to make Dental visits exciting and engaging for the whole family. These themed days were full of laughter, learning, and, of course, smiles!
It was a joy to see so many of our younger patients step into the clinic with excitement, curious about what they were about to learn. From fun Dental activities to interactive games, these days were more than just a visit to the Dentist; they were an opportunity for children to embrace oral health in a friendly, welcoming environment. The joy on their faces, along with the stickers and prizes they received, made every moment worthwhile.
Our upcoming Kids Days are on the 16th of December 2024 and the 10th of April 2025. Be sure to book in before spots are full!

At Brisbane Smiles, we know that our success is due in no small part to the hard work, dedication and expertise of our team. Our providers are the driving force behind everything we do, and we are incredibly proud of the care they provide to every patient who walks through our doors.
In addition to our clinical team, we have our talented Oral Health Therapists and Dental Hygienists. Their expert care and dedication to preventative treatments ensure that our patients leave with healthy, confident smiles.
Dr Paul McKay, our Principal Dentist and CEO, continues to lead the practice with unwavering dedication and a passion for patient care. His years of experience, combined with his calm and compassionate approach to achieving natural, safe smiles for patients, creates an environment where every patient feels safe and valued.
Dr Graham McKay, one of our most experienced General Dentists and founder of Brisbane Smiles, has been a crucial part of our team, bringing a wealth of knowledge and skill to every procedure. His expertise and attention to detail are something our patients consistently appreciate.
Dr Tara Møller, another incredible General Dentist, has made a significant impact with her gentle and exceptional approach to Cosmetic and General treatments.
Dr Karuna Khatri rounds out our team of exceptional Dentists. Her gentle personality and commitment to treating her patients holistically makes every experience amazing.
Patricia Li, head of the Oral Hygiene Department, provides a welcoming environment and empowers patients with tools and education for maintaining excellent oral health.
Elsabe Martincich, a dedicated Dental Hygienist, ensures high-quality oral health care tailored to each patient’s unique needs.
Jodie Wu, a Dental Hygienist, uses her personalised and gentle approach to make patients feel at ease while fostering positive oral health habits.
Bradley McCormack, an Oral Health Therapist, creates a comfortable and informative experience, focusing on periodontal health and fostering good dental habits, especially in children.
Melanie Blooms, an Oral Health Therapist, we have been lucky enough to welcome to the Brisbane Smiles team right before Christmas! Melanie enjoys helping patients understand their conditions and making better choices for themselves.
Alex Benny, our Dental Prosthetist, has been instrumental in ensuring our patients receive the highest quality of custom prosthetics.
Provider Professional Growth
Dr Paul has continued his business development and growth mindset throughout 2024, and has visited the USA four times this year. He is even more focused than ever to make Brisbane Smiles, Brisbane’s best Dental Experience for you – our patients. He even took his two sons to the USA for a professional youth development program to encourage a growth mindset; to teach them how to create and fulfil their goals.
Dr Tara and Dr Karuna continued their Invisalign education and together attended a Digital Smile Design program in Sydney, they are ready to continue to design and create beautiful smiles!
Both Dr Andrei and Dr Graham brushed up on their professional education this year, completing a number of online and short courses for general and cosmetic dentistry. Dr Andrei focused on his holistic knowledge for topics such as: Dental Implant Healthcare & Treatment, Emergency Medicine in Dentistry, Soft Tissue Management for Periodontal Health and Aesthetics, Bridging Gaps in Dental Antimicrobial Stewardship and Infection Control.
Michele, our Practice Manager, travelled to America this year to attend a Business Manager program, where she learnt the valuable skills to keep our practice running smoothly and at the forefront of keeping our patients happy and healthy.
Welcoming Back & Sending Best Wishes
We welcomed back our amazing Oral Health Therapist, Paula, from maternity leave on December the 9th – so book in early before her books fill up!
We are also wishing our Hygiene Leader, Patricia, all the best while on her maternity leave and thanking her for her hard work this year!
Before & After Case Highlights
One of the most rewarding aspects of our work is witnessing the transformations our patients undergo. This year, we’ve seen incredible before-and-after results — from complex restorative procedures to beautiful smile makeovers! Each transformation represents a new chapter in a patient’s life, bringing them the confidence to smile freely and proudly. We’re so proud of the work our team has done to deliver these results, and we’re thrilled to continue helping our patients achieve their Dental goals.

Team Fun!
We believe in celebrating our team’s hard work and achievements with energy and enthusiasm! This year, we had a fantastic lineup of events that brought us closer together. We kicked things off by mastering the art of Turkish pizza-making at Mecca Bah, enjoyed a fitness boost with a Pilates class led by our talented Dr Karuna and shared insights over a leadership dinner at Babylon. We wrapped up an amazing year with a festive Christmas lunch at Popolo, celebrating all we’ve accomplished as a team. Here’s to even more fun, growth, and success together in 2025!
Kindy Talks
We also continued our commitment to community outreach with our Kindy Talks program, where we connected with young children to teach them the importance of oral health. Through engaging and fun presentations, we were able to make Dental care approachable and exciting for kids.
It’s always wonderful to see the lightbulbs go off in their heads when they learn how to take care of their teeth! We’re grateful for the warm welcome from the schools and parents, as these efforts are vital in setting the foundation for healthy smiles in the years to come.
